Our EIT GovMax team is seeking a Software Analyst (IT Professional IV) to join a collaborative, high-performing group supporting critical county systems and services. In this role, you’ll contribute to application support, software development, systems integration, and technical consulting, helping deliver reliable, efficient solutions that support both internal departments and community partners. This position offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a meaningful way while working both independently and as part of a team. Participation in a rotational on-call schedule is required to support 24/7 operations.

We’re looking for candidates with a strong foundation in technology and problem-solving, typically gained through a bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of related experience, a master’s degree and 2+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical thinking, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Microsoft technologies, web and database development, and a proactive, self-driven approach will set you apart. About the Position

In this role, you will be responsible for...

Application Support, Development & Project Management:

  • Develop, maintain, and support web, desktop, and enterprise applications using Microsoft technologies.

  • Manage application lifecycle activities, including design, testing, deployment, and ongoing enhancements.

  • Configure and administer IIS, SQL Server, and reporting services.

  • Perform database development and administration, including queries, procedures, and data integration.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation for systems and users.

  • Participate in system design to ensure alignment with business and technical requirements.

  • Provide on-call support and stay current with emerging technologies.

Contract Management:

  • Act as a liaison between users, IT teams, and vendors to resolve issues

  • Prioritize and coordinate work to ensure timely resolution

  • Communicate updates and monitor vendor performance

Partnerships, Customer Service & Consulting:

  • Provide training, support, and documentation to users and IT staff

  • Build relationships by understanding business needs and user requirements

  • Translate user needs into effective technical solutions

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance system performance and user experience

Leadership & Project Oversight:

  • Lead or support system upgrades and technical projects

  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and keep leadership informed

  • Provide recommendations on technical solutions and improvements

About the Schedule

Work Hours:

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.

  • Typical Schedule: Monday - Friday, 08:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. (no weekends!)

  • This role is involved in rotational on-call 24/7/365 technical support.

As a reminder, all county employees are considered essential and must be prepared to protect and support the community and its citizens. Each employee, without exception, will have a duty assignment and be required to work during a disaster or declared emergency.

About You

To be considered for this role, you must have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a specific field of endeavor, such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, etc. with 4+ years of related professional experience. 

  • OR: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with 2+ years of related professional experience. 

  • OR: 8+ years of related professional experience may substitute for the formal education at the discretion of management.
