POSITION SUMMARY
This position is accountable for directing activities of workers concerned with construction of buildings, foundations, or other construction projects. Performs support, oversight and coordination functions for and among multiple projects.
The Area General Superintendent (AGS) must have the ability and flexibility to work varying shifts and long hours. Weekend work may occur according to production needs.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drives strong safety culture among all job sites. Works with field Safety Team to ensure that regular safety meetings are effectively conducted and attended by all employees. Ensures that all safety protocols are followed to prevent injuries.
- Manages and mentors employees and ensures active on-the-job training. This includes hiring, training, promoting, transferring, and discharging field personnel as necessary.
- Works closely with jobsite supervision and project management to 1) Manage and meet the job schedules; and 2) Assist as necessary in development and coordination of manpower, material, and equipment schedules. Staff’s projects to achieve successful outcomes.
- Troubleshoots and resolves constructability concerns with project team.
- Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
- Assembles members of organization (supervisory, project management, clerical, engineering, and other workers) at start of project as necessary.
- Ensures proper planning and ordering of procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
- Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays. Confers with supervisory personnel and Human Resources to resolve complaints and grievances within work force. Confers with customers, supervisory, engineering personnel, inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
- Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
- Prepares or reviews reports on progress, labor and materials used and costs and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.
- Performs special projects and complete all other duties as assigned.

- Performs other related administrative and technical duties as may be assigned or requested by immediate supervision (such as certification training, safety training, procedure review, etc.).
