Job Summary
Castalia Systems is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support our customer on site at Ft. Shafter, HI. The Sr, ISSO will provide technical support to end users: monitoring system performance, troubleshooting and resolving hardware/software issues, optimizing network performance, managing system backups and recovery processes, and implementing necessary upgrades and patches.
Roles and Responsibilities
A qualified candidate will perform the following duties and responsibilities, but are not limited to:
- Install, configure, administer, manage, and maintain network infrastructure (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls) and Windows physical and virtual server environments/operating systems.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various systems, networks, and applications: including creating, enabling, provisioning and deactivating user accounts.
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (can substitute with Associate’s degree and 4 years of experience, or HS diploma and 6 years of experience).
- CompTIA Security+ and/or DoD 8570-compliant IAT Level II Certification
- 5+ years of experience in system administration, network administration, or a related role
- Excellent problem-solving skills and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical users and collaborate across multiple teams and external entities
- Experience managing multiple concurrent tasks, projects, and priorities to meet customer deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills in maintaining documentation of system configurations and procedures, and providing reports on system performance, incidents, and maintenance activities
- Experience providing technical support to end users: monitoring system performance, troubleshooting and resolving hardware/software issues, optimizing network performance, managing system backups and recovery processes, and implementing necessary upgrades and patches
- Ability to install, configure, administer, manage, and maintain network infrastructure (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls) and Windows physical and virtual server environments/operating systems
- Experience with managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various systems, networks, and applications: including creating, enabling, provisioning and deactivating user accounts
- A strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network configuration.
