GENERAL SUMMARY
The Community Pharmacy Operations Manager reports to the Director of Pharmacy. Their primary job function is to oversee the operations of all community pharmacies within the organization providing the strategic planning, leadership, management, and clinical skills necessary to ensure that all community pharmacies deliver high-quality services, meet regulatory requirements, and achieve business objectives. This involves, but is not limited to, project management, operations management, capital and operating budget oversight, new service development, strategic planning, and quality improvement projects to produce and sustain results in all five of SOMC’s strategic values: Service, Teamwork, Safety, Quality, and Finance. To accomplish these things, he/she is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring key performance indicators for current operations and any new services implemented with the goal of improving community pharmacy efficiency, patient satisfaction, and profitability. Additionally, he/she is responsible for development and oversight of clinical programs and protocols for the community pharmacy department, including Medication Therapy Management (MTM), Vaccination Programs and Protocols, Value Based Care (VBC) and Clinically Integrated Network initiatives, and consult agreement evaluations. Lastly, they are responsible for maintaining a presence in all community pharmacies, building necessary relationships to ensure departmental initiatives are prioritized and accomplished.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
• High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required
• Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (PharmD) required.
Licensure:
• Registered Pharmacist in the state of Ohio required.
• Registered Pharmacist in the state of Kentucky required.
Experience:
• Three years of previous pharmacy leadership experience required.
• Previous experience managing data, spreadsheets, dashboards, and other data is required.
• Previous community pharmacy experience is preferred.
JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

1. Oversee the operations of each community pharmacy, the specialty pharmacy, the 340B department, the call center, and the central fill pharmacy and is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing all community pharmacy services to ensure overall operational success.
2. Oversee the creation and management of budgets, with help from the Community Pharmacy Manager and site level Registered Pharmacist Supervisors, for each community pharmacy, including forecasting expenses and revenue.
3. Create and present reports, presentations, and visionary proposals to senior management on areas such as pharmacy performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives.
4. Completes site visits at all community pharmacies, the specialty pharmacy, the 340B department, the call-center, and the central fill pharmacy at least quarterly to assess operational efficiency, team member satisfaction, and compliance with processes and procedures.
5. Responsible for staying up to date on industry trends and developments, adjusting pharmacy operations to meet them accordingly, while allowing for growth and expansion.
6. Explore new technologies, methodologies, and approaches to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
7. Responsible for developing clinical programs and protocols for the community pharmacy department, including Medication Therapy Management (MTM), Vaccination Programs and Protocols, Value Based Care (VBC) and Clinically Integrated Network initiatives, and consult agreement evaluations.
8. Develop and implement strategies to improve pharmacy efficiency, patient satisfaction, and profitability.
9. Develop, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve operational and financial performance.
10. Develop and implement strategies to increase profitability while maintaining quality services.
11. Develop and implement strategies to manage inventory levels and optimize purchasing practices to decrease costs and increase profitability.
12. Develop and implement strategies for recruitment, training, and management of pharmacy staff that ensure consistent world-class service across all community pharmacies.
