Position Summary

Provides technical and analytical work in developing, designing, and supporting applications for Digital Pathology in the WashU Pathology Department & BJC Labs.

Participates in the development of solutions using IT technical support expertise for day-to-day problems to include maintenance, modification, or development of complex inter-related applications/solutions. Extensive technical knowledge with business (vendor relations), research, and/or clinical solutions for developing integrated and/or automated systems with a healthcare enterprise system.

Duties include clinical-needs assessment as well as evaluating hardware availability and software requirements for digital imaging solutions. Employee will either be involved in support, designing, and training, or a combination of all depending upon the size and complexity of the application portfolio of the entity being supported. Employee should be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Supports initiatives of the department which includes WSI (Whole Slide Imaging) scanners, Imaging applications, and supervising the Digital Imaging Center
• Works on projects of moderate size and complexity, ensuring timely completion of assigned deliverables.
• Leads application support and development of assigned solutions.
• Helps determine appropriate architecture, and other technical solutions, and makes relevant recommendations to the project manager and other stakeholders.
• Communicates to the project manager with efficiency and accuracy any progress and/or delays.
• Leads application testing and validation for all digital imaging related uses in both the clinical and research areas.
• Creates and manages help and training documentation including support related items.
• Coordinates work with other team members for application development and administration, to ensure that architecture, functionality, and design are consistent with all information technology strategies.
• Researches and evaluates new laboratory technologies, products, specialized hardware and tools to optimize development and functionality of current and future applications.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

$65,900.00 - $112,700.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors in
