Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Director - North America Meetings & Events to create, drive and manage events to support Visa’s client and employee initiatives across the U.S. and Canada. This professional needs to understand strategic business objectives and help translate them into successful event programs. This position reports to the Vice President, North America Meetings & Events. While proximity to Visa’s corporate headquarters is preferred, qualified candidates in other markets will also be considered.
Responsibilities
This role is part of Visa’s North America (NA) Operations team, which is responsible for various internal and external meetings and events supporting NA Leadership and the regional sales team for the U.S. and Canada, working closely with leaders to engage their teams and the wider Visa population on relevant business priorities and key objectives.
Design, lead and execute various types of event programs such as large-scale client conferences with C-level attendees, Client Roundtables, User Conferences, Hospitality Events and internal All-Staffs and Annual Sales Meetings.
Guide teammates on effective event planning techniques, strategies and tactics to deliver best in class events and experiences.
Develop and support production of agendas and content use across multiple internal channels (e.g., events/ speaker support, presentations and videos) partnering with colleagues across the organization, particularly business and regional leads, to ensure message alignment.
Create event proposals, pitches and budget estimates
Deep bench and understanding of suppliers and event solution vendors
Direct experience implementing strategic meetings management process in hybrid and virtual environments
Management of large-scale conferences including staging, AV production, speaker support, presentation materials, speaker training, rehearsals, run of show and production schedules
On-site event execution including registration management, administration of event technology platforms, culinary, product showcase, theme parties, print / signage and all logistics
Trade show sponsorship management including speaking engagements, booth and experience design
Write event communications, invitation copy and promotional pieces
Ensure that meetings and events are delivered in a way that is timely, accurate and on brand and aligned with the company purpose, strategy, and culture.
Develop and maintain accurate event budgets, contract negotiation, administer and reconcile event spend / payments and invoicing. Keep detailed event and budget records for internal documentation / audit purposes.
Embed robust analytics and measurement processes into event strategies, and analyze and share relevant metrics to stakeholders to demonstrate event effectiveness and drive ongoing improvement.
In partnership with internal colleagues and vendors, design and create new ways of reaching audiences in hybrid environments, leveraging digital assets to increase engagement.
Coach and evaluate performance of direct reports.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD
