Wealth Management Operations 

Wealth Management (WM) Operations is a global organization operating in 21 cities across 4 countries in support of the Wealth Management business.  The organization drives operational excellence by supporting business growth, enhancing the client experience, and improving operational efficiency with a strong foundation in risk and financial management. 

Capital Markets, Core Processing and Risk supports the movement of client assets in and out of the Firm, provide asset servicing for our clients, and offer front-to-back support to clients throughout the lifecycle of a trade.  CMCPR’s primary focus is to provide first class service to our business partners, financial advisors and clients while mitigating financial, reputation, and regulatory risk to the Firm. 

Overview of role: 

We are seeking a Vice President to join Morgan Stanley’s Wealth Management Operations Capital Markets, Core Processing & Risk (CMCPR) organization’s COO team as the Transformation, Metrics & Analytics lead.  They will be responsible for shaping and driving the department’s transformation and automation agenda, operating model, governance framework, transformation and automation strategy and portfolio.  The successful candidate will partner closely with Operations leadership, Technology, Finance, Risk, and Global Operations Transformation teams to drive strategic initiatives that improve scalability, operational effectiveness, risk management, and organizational performance.   

This individual will provide leadership and oversight across the department’s transformation and automation portfolio, ensuring alignment with Firmwide and Operations’ priorities while establishing the governance, metrics, and management disciplines necessary to sustain long-term transformation.  The role requires an experienced individual with the ability to translate strategy into execution, drive organizational alignment, and influence senior stakeholders across a complex, matrixed environment. 

The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen with a deep understanding of operating model design, process optimization, performance management, automation, artificial intelligence, and organizational transformation.  They will play a critical role in modernizing how CMCPR operates while enabling the department to deliver against evolving business, client, regulatory, and operational priorities. 

What you will do: 

Transformation Strategy & Execution 

  • Lead the development and execution of the CMCPR transformation strategy, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives, WM Operations priorities, and the Global Operations Transformation goals and agenda. 
  • Oversight of the department’s transformation portfolio, including strategic initiatives, automation programs, operating model enhancements, and productivity initiatives. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve organizational effectiveness, operational scalability, risk management, and capacity creation through process redesign, workflow optimization, and technology enablement. 
  • Drive adoption of emerging technologies, including workflow automation, artificial intelligence (GenAI, Agentic AI), software solutions, and intelligent document processing capabilities.  

Governance & Operating Model Leadership 

  • Refine and maintain the governance framework supporting transformation, automation, and strategic initiatives across CMCPR. 
  • Drive operating model discipline through enhanced prioritization, execution management, accountability, and benefit realization practices. 
  • Lead portfolio governance forums, steering committees, and cross-functional leadership discussions to review progress, manage risks, and align strategic priorities. 
  • Develop frameworks that improve transparency, decision-making, resource allocation, and execution consistency across the department. 
  • Develop executive scorecards, management dashboards, KPI frameworks, and performance reporting that support data-driven decision making.
