THE ROLE & THE TEAM

As the Head of Product for Tech Foundation and Data , you would be responsible for building and scaling our foundational partner-facing products (which include the Portal Foundation, Communication Platform and our Data Platform among others).

Our vision is to provide a scalable, flexible and easy to use infrastructure to enable Zalando’s business units to build fast and cost efficient applications for our partners. We provide the capabilities and synergies to build consistent, intuitive and seamless partner experiences.

This role is critical for Zalando, and the capabilities and tools built here serve as a critical foundation for all other teams that are building partner and brand facing products.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• Own and Lead Foundational Technical Products: Take full ownership of three critical foundational products for our partners: Portal Frameworks, Communication Platforms, and Data Platforms. Ensure these products are developed, maintained, and aligned with our product strategy to support partner products effectively.

• Create and Develop Core Platforms: Design and implement scalable, user-friendly portal frameworks, robust communication platforms for partner interactions, and comprehensive data platforms for various product and engineering teams.

• Strategize Digital Integration: Shape and execute our digital integration strategy with partners and integrators, identifying opportunities to enhance our digital ecosystem and improve partner interactions.

• Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure foundational products support their initiatives. Stay abreast of industry trends, implementing innovative solutions to keep our products at the forefront of technology.

• Prioritize User Experience and Compliance: Ensure all foundational products provide an excellent user experience and comply with relevant regulations and standards. Implement security measures to protect data and communication channels.

• Mentor and Report: Lead and develop a high-performing team of product managers and engineers. Define and deliver against key performance indicators (KPIs), regularly report progress to senior leadership, and continuously seek improvements based on feedback and performance data.
