Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the delivery of resident care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care based on established clinical nursing practices and in line with the organizations mission and vision. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient resident care delivery and the achievement of desired resident outcomes. The Registered Nurse performs tasks related to resident care. The RN is responsible for the planning, supervising and evaluating, the nursing care residents and for correlating the nursing process, the medical plan of care and policies. Must follow directions perform work and or give directions and oversee performance of those under the RN supervision according to department standards. The RN is capable of delivering direct and non-direct care. Responsible for compliance with overall nursing practice standards of the area.
-Responsible for compliance with standards during assigned shift. Uses established principles of delegation and supervision to direct the activities of all licensed and non-licensed care givers and support staff in the delivery of resident care during their assigned shift
-Uses independent judgment to ensure optimal delivery of resident care and appropriate use of available resources.
Supervises LPNs, Certified Nursing Assistants and Unit Secretaries.

Education:
Graduate of a School of Professional Nursing.
Must have proficiency in written and verbal communications.
Experience:
At least 1-year previous experience in a hospital, nursing home or medically related environment preferred.
Possess mature behavior and able to function effectively under stress. Must possess the ability to deal with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, physicians, administration, government agencies and personnel, and the general public.
Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
Licenses/Certificates:
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of South Carolina or Compact State.
Current BLS and to be maintained biannually.
