Healthfirst’s 2025 Summer Trailblazer Internship is a 10-week paid program beginning on June 2, 2025. This is an immersive and interactive learning experience, that lays a foundation for continued leadership development. Interns do impactful work, collaborating with other interns, employees, and business leaders to solve current business problems and deliver solutions.

Position Summary:
The Dental Benefits Intern is responsible for assisting in the planning, design, and implementation of dental initiatives to further enhance our current dental benefits offering and improve vendor oversight. This role will help support improving dental access and experience for members and providers.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with Dental managers to gather and document requirements for dental services and initiatives 
  • Conduct market research to determine effective and sustainable programs to increase preventive care  
  • Support collection and analysis of member feedback 
  • Assist in analyzing dental performance metrics and generate insights for business planning  
  • Validate the accuracy of dental directory to meet Healthfirst performance targets and/or compliance standards 
  • Create visually appealing presentations that demonstrate data-driven insights to promote data driven decision making 
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports as required by the Dental Benefit Services team 
  • Additional duties as assigned or necessary  

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Undergraduate students must be a junior or senior at an accredited institution or have graduated within 12 months of the program. Graduate students must be enrolled at an accredited institution or have graduated within 12 months of the program. 
  • Ability to problem solve, synthesize information and attention to detail  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills  
  • Excellent analytical skills, and both written and oral communication skills required 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. 
  • Will not require sponsorship for employment 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Senior on track to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree (Spring 2025), preferably in analytics, public health, business, economics, or another related field, Master’s degree candidate, preferably in public health, business, or health administration, or Dental graduate student 
  • Experience developing market research, knowledge of health care and dental industry, systems, and products
