Position Summary

This position greets patients upon their arrival. Duties include check-in, check-out, scheduling appointments, ensuring insurance is verified and referrals are obtained, ensuring appropriate registration information is entered correctly and in a timely manner. Assists with maintaining patient flow in a fast paced clinical office. This position will require evening hours and weekends in our Orthopedic Injury Clinic.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for greeting, registering and checking in New, Return and Walk-in patients. Will also check-out and schedule appointments.
• Updates and verifies patient insurance, referrals and demographic information in EPIC as needed.
• Collects copays, self-pay payments and fees for services as needed.
• Balances cash drawer daily.
• Serves as back up for other staff during peak times, vacations and illnesses. Travel to other locations may be required.
• Maintains familiarity with insurance companies and their requirements.
• Adheres to HIPAA regulations and all Orthopedic/front desk policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience.

Certifications:

Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, Basic Life Support - American Red Cross

Work Experience:

Billing Systems And Third-Party Claims And/Or Medical Office Setting, Related Customer Service (3 Years)

Required Qualifications:

• Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.

Salary Range

$17.34 - $25.40 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
