Our “Roof & Components (RC)” business unit develops and produces roof systems for every type of vehicle and autonomous driving. To achieve this, we rely on the most modern technologies and materials. Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct all maintenance personnel and determine departmental work assignments
- Support all production and pre-production builds by directing maintenance personnel
- Design, build, and install equipment and tooling for introduction of new programs
- Maintain a preventative maintenance system including but not limited to: Downtime Tracking and Reporting; SPM; Task, Work
- Order and Inventory Management; and Purchasing; maintenance labor efficiency reporting
- Develop Standard Job Instructions and set job specific training requirements for departmental personnel
- Work with local government agencies to insure compliance with local ordinances
- Strictly ensure all safety policies are maintained and adhere to Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Ensure all machines are in compliance with OSHA and MIOSHA regulations
- Develop and maintain Equipment Fail-safes to prevent damage to equipment
- Determine the need for capital equipment as related to maintenance and building
- Assure TS 16949 compliance as it relates to maintenance
- Hire, train, develop, evaluate, discipline and promote departmental personnel in conjunction with the Human Resources Department
- Assist Maintenance Manager in establishing departmental budget requirements
- Assure all customer and policies are developed and maintained in a timely manner as they relate to maintenance
Authority:
- Discipline colleagues for violation of company policy and procedures with Human Resource advisement
- Stop production for safety or quality related issues
- Approve equipment modifications for Continuous Improvement
- Contact the emergency response team in case of an environmental concern
- Authorize repair work
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or journeyman status w/ two to four years automotive experience or Vocational Degree in related field with six years equivalent related experience
- Knowledge of OSHA and MIOSHA regulations
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communicational skills required
- Knowledge of local codes as applicable to facilities
- Ability to take a leadership role in a team based environment
