Senior Project Manager - Finance Transformation

Job Description

We're looking for a Senior Project Manager to join the Finance Transformation Team. We are a team dedicated to long term scalability and operational excellence of the Finance Organization. As a newly public company, Procore is transforming the ways we work, and our team is at the center of that change. We are the go-to representatives of the Finance organization and collaborate with all areas of the business to ensure that we scale as we grow.  This role will partner with key Finance stakeholders to lead transformation initiatives and deploy scalable long term process and technology solutions for our complex and growing business.  You will work closely with your colleagues across the Finance team (e.g. Accounting, Payroll, Procurement, Revenue Cycle, Revenue Accounting and Accounts Receivable) and cross-functionally with our broader cross functional partners (i.e. Finance Systems, Talent Technology and Operations,  Revenue Systems and Revenue Operations, Corporate Development,  Strategy and Execution)  to improve overall operational efficiency. The position reports to the Head of Finance Transformation.

You will be responsible for delivering quality outcomes within budget and timeline and scope, while meeting expectations of stakeholder satisfaction and business adoption. We’ll need you to be motivated to engage with all functions to guide and enable their success, agile in response to changes and needs of various stakeholders, and analytical in identifying risks, opportunities, and dependencies across the projects and programs. This position reports to our Head of Finance Transformation and can be remote. We're looking for someone to join us immediately.

What you'll do:

• Partner with business leaders to clearly articulate business outcomes and performance targets that the defined scope is intended to deliver

• In depth knowledge of methodologies to improve processes, modernize technologies, and assess operating models, with an ability to construct a project scope inclusive of end to end business transformation. Build & manage project governance throughout the lifecycle of the implementation (e.g. project charter, project plan, risk management, status reports, go/no go criteria, change management etc.)

• Work cross functionally to proactively manage expectations of all interested parties: aligning on clear project roadmaps, provide frequent project updates, identify and communicate risks & adjustments to overall project & ensure commitments are delivered

• Drive core project team strategy, status calls, engagement & overall management of deliverables across multiple workstreams

• Develop positive relationships and facilitate communication within the team, as needed, to achieve milestones and professionally manage communications with internal / external project stakeholders

• Oversees onboarding and mentoring of team members to projects/work efforts under their leadership, specific to those projects/work efforts

• Continually foster alignment where there is uncertainty or ambiguity over roles or processes 

What we're looking for:

• 5+ years of relevant program and project management experience

• Experience designing & executing project strategies & communicating with data to drive direction, growth & change

• Practiced in creating and managing project governance (requirement/scoping, project plan, meeting facilitation, risk/issue identification and mitigation)

• Public company experience is a must; and background in SaaS would be a plus

• Strong understanding of finance system architecture needs for large software companies

• Experience with large scale finance transformation efforts 

• Highly proactive with desire for continuous improvement

• PMP certification would be a plus

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and an understanding of how to synthesize details depending on the audience in a highly matrixed organization

• You have strong influencing skills; assertive without being antagonistic or alienating; ability to build relationships and work in a collaborative and team-centric culture.
