RESPONSIBILITIES:

Baystate Health, Medical Assistants perform an important role providing care to our patients. They take vital signs, perform patient intake and history, clinical orders, procedures, documentation and patient discharge. Our supportive work environment allows you to provide optimal patient care.

SCHEDULE:

  • Full-time schedules vary from 7:30am - 5:30pm

  • Most schedules are M-Fri

  • Pulmonary - Springfield

  • Pediatrics - Springfield

  • Urogyn - Springfield

  • Pain Clinic - Springfield

  • Cardiology - Springfield

  • Northern Edge Adult/Pedi - Springfield

  • Mason Square Neighborhood Health Center - Springfield (schedule includes one evening and one Sat morning per month)

  • Quabbin Pedi - Palmer

  • Convenient Care - Palmer (schedule includes evening and weekend)

  • Family Medicine - Northampton

  • Multi-specialty - Northampton

  • Primary Care - Enfield CT

  • Primary Care - Feeding Hills

  • Cardiology - Westfield

  • Urgent Care - Westfield (schedule includes evening and weekend)

  • Wilbraham Adult Medicine - Wilbraham

  • South Hadley Adult Medicine - South Hadley

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High School diploma or GED required

  • CPR-Basic Life Support of Healthcare Provider required from the American Heart Association required

  • MAI - Graduate of an accredited MA program preferred OR demonstrated competencies of MA I (evaluated by hiring manager) with minimum 1 year experience in a medical office.

  • MAII - Graduate of an accredited MA program OR demonstrated competencies of MA II (evaluated by hiring manager for level hiring for) with minimum 3 years’ current relevant medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting.

  • MAIII - Graduate of an accredited MA program with a minimum of 5 years’ current relevant medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting preferred OR demonstrated competencies of MA III (evaluated by hiring manager) with a minimum of 5 years’ current relevant medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting OR minimum of two years as an MA II at a Baystate Health with demonstrated competencies of MA III.

  • MAIV - (Internal career ladder) Minimum of two years as an MA III at Baystate Health with demonstrated competencies for promotion to MA IV. Graduate of an accredited MA program and registered/certified by a third-party credential body.

Credentialing must be awarded by a third-party credentialing body which can be obtained through: 1. Registered through Medical Assistant (ARMA) - (Minimum Requirement); 2. Registered through American Medical Technologist (AMT) association; or 3. Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National
