Role

We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A to join our growing team in our San Diego, CA Headquarters. This role will report to the Director of Finance.

What Will you Do?

As the Senior Financial Analyst for FP&A, you will be leading the formation of the company’s financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting team within the finance group. This role will be an Individual Contributor level but will require cross-company leadership to accomplish critical planning objectives and help grow the team to an expanded future capacity. In the last year, Quartus has revamped Annual Planning, Strategic Planning and Forecasting approaches and this role will be critical for continuing and expanding these initiatives as well as others in the future.

Essential Job Functions

People & Culture

• Plays a key role in supporting our FP&A transformation, which includes optimizing technologies and processes to deliver FP&A services most efficiently and effectively while building out the direct and indirect supporting team.
• Collaborates with senior members of the accounting and finance teams.
• Prepares and delivers presentations to varied internal audiences including Senior Leadership and Key Leadership teams; effectively communicates financial concepts to non-financial audiences.
• Develop training for Quartus team to help educate them on basic financial topics.

Real Time Analysis

• Creates variance analysis reports and financial models.
• Leads real-time financial performance monitoring.
• Escalates any financial issues to management.
• Recommends strategies for increasing financial performance.
• Completes analysis of monthly financial results vs. AOP and forecast to provide meaningful insight into the company’s financial performance and make recommendations to business leaders.
• Presents detailed monthly financial reports to managers.

Planning

• Sets and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives.
• Completes competitive market research analysis.
• Supports the quarterly forecast process and quarterly business review process.
• Assists in developing the company’s long-range and annual plans.
• Develops and interprets complex financial models to provide executive management with the information needed to make strategic decisions.
• Participates in strategic projects and initiatives, often cross-functionally and across multiple geographies.

Location 

Position is based in San Diego, CA with a hybrid schedule.

• Works independently and leads teams using project management skills.
• Solid leadership skills in delegation, setting the example, and prioritizing work.
• A bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, accounting, or a related major or equivalent professional experience is required.
• Must have 7+ years of experience of financial planning experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified public accountants (CPA) or certified financial analysts (CFA) are preferred.
• MBA or other advanced financial degree.
• Exceptional leadership skills in influencing others and strategic thinking.

Compensation and Benefits

Senior Financial Analyst pay range: $100,017-166,694*

*This pay range represents base pay. In addition, you may be eligible for additional benefits and compensation.
