The Supervisor Sample and Archive Management is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and supervision of the team of associates in the Greenfield and Indianapolis locations, as well as managing the operations department to ensure the successful implementation of the Global Sample Management and Archives strategy, structures, processes, and metrics to deliver outstanding customer satisfaction. You will supervise the operational staff responsible for sample management and archive disposition responsibilities and be the site's primary regulatory archivist. In addition to, be accountable for compliance with appropriate SOP's and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Good Clinical Practice (GCP) or Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations (as applicable) in support of various Business Unit Operations. You will ensure that services to internal and external customers are provided on time or as agreed in Service Level Agreements. Duties include but are not limited to.
Supervising the day-to-day operations of the team
Ensuring the development of a competent workforce to meet growth plans within budget.
Supervising the workload balance.
Ensuring the seamless integration of all Sample Management &/or Archive functions at the local site.
Accountable for the team's activities, communicating issues to management and taking appropriate corrective action.
Ensure the consistent implementation, use, and review of SOPs.
Monitor and track department activities and resources.
Help and review new Service Requests ( NSSO)
Assist and support management in the development and implementation of global processes and, procedures, and performance metrics.
Participate in Sample Management &/or Archive tasks related to strategy, planning, budgeting, and cross-department issues.
Ensure new processes are developed with global participation and implementation.
Track, monitor, and report metrics in the agreed-upon timelines.
Instill a culture of continuous improvement, quality, and productivity.
Coordinating and monitoring progress to ensure achievement of timelines and goals.
Day-to-day supervision of individual team members.
With management's input, complete thorough, timely and well-documented performance evaluations, and interim progress reviews.
Establishing and monitoring performance objectives for direct reports, communicating performance issues to management, and taking corrective action where appropriate.
Monitor, track, manage, and ensure resolution of all customer complaints, issues, and concerns.
Ensures all service failures are identified, tracked, and resolved promptly. Take preventative action to ensure the same service failure(s) does not occur again.
Effective and timely adherence to management communications, meetings and procedures.
Monitors expenses and communicates to Management budget variances.
Ability to travel to Indianapolis frequently and to other areas of North America rarely.
Education/Qualifications/Experience
An HS Diploma or equivalent is required, BS degree in science or a related field is preferred but not required
Preferred by not required 1+ years of managing a team of 8 + associates performing specimen management, laboratory functions, or data management duties
Able to work in a team as well as independently.
Dynamic attitude and ability to work under pressure.
Ability to take up challenges.
Strong detail orientation.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to use several software packages i.e. Word, Excel, Access.
