What You Will Do
Pratt & Whitney Hot Section Engineering (HSE) is looking for an experienced Sr. Project Manager to lead a team of Project engineers supporting the F135 Base & ECU Diffuser/Combustor Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT). This position requires proven leadership, excellent communication skills, CAM experience, strategic thinking, and well-rounded project engineering skills. In this role, the candidate will be required to work onsite. This is a technical supervisory position where the candidate will lead the Project team both technically and administratively, while participating as the Project lead on the CIPT.
Responsibilities Include:
- Manage a team of five to eight project engineers. The team includes a mix of direct reports located in West Palm Beach, FL in addition to indirect project engineers located at other P&W sites and outsource companies.
- Talent development and mentorship of the project team
- Develop staffing plans and strategies, including outsourcing Statements of Work (SOWs)
- Chair product reviews, including documentation of meeting minutes, assigning action items, and reviewing actions item closures
- Lead a team to manage budgets and ensure schedule milestones are achieved
- Active and engaged participant in the F135 and ECU Diffuser/Combustor CIPT
- Prepare and present at CIPT, SIPT, and various Executive reviews
- Ensure strong communication and alignment with both internal and external customers
- 5% domestic travel required
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- 10 years of experience in engineering or aerospace with a bachelor’s degree, or 7 years with an advanced degree
- Prior IPT leadership experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Combustor and Diffuser Case knowledge/experience
- 5+ years of prior team leadership and experience in program planning/budgeting/tracking
- 3+ years of experience/knowledge of SAP, CCB/PCIR process, EVMS, and Primavera
- Military CAM / budget experience
- Experience with the Agile toolset
- Experience delivering and validating development hardware
- Active US Government Security Clearance
- Proven ability to organize and execute multiple tasks
- Demonstrated effectiveness in working across functions, organizations, and all levels of management
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
