Summary
This position is essential to the operations of the Human Resources department and functions as a business partner by managing staff recruiting and total rewards and employee benefit experiences. As the HRBP you will answer general employment related questions, follow up on employee inquiries, and provide coaching to supervisors on talent acquisition and hiring matters. This position works in tandem with the HR Generalist and HR Business Partner, Faculty Operations, daily to support new and existing employees to deliver a quality onboard and offboard employee experience. This position reports to the HR leader.
Responsibilities:
Staff Talent and Recruitment Administration:
- Post job ads online on diverse job boards.
- Conduct prescreens, reference and background checks and exit interviews.
- Participate in the interview process for open positions for staff. Assist search committees, which can include collection of applicant materials, setting up interviews and advertising.
- Basic screening of employment applications for education and faith requirement, then forwarding to appropriate supervisors.
- Draft and send offer letters to prospective full-time staff, and present offers to candidates over the phone.
- Greet job applicants; respond to inquiries regarding vacancies via e-mail, phone or in person; assist applicants in completing applications, and on issues concerning application received.
- Plan and execute the quarterly new employee orientation that focuses on the culture and connection of North Park.
- Assist HR team with the presentation of new employee orientation as scheduled.
- Maintain employee orientation materials and distribute accordingly.
- Effectively manage the collection and housing of staff credentials (CV’s and transcripts).
- Maintain up-to-date job descriptions for staff positions.
Benefits and Leave Administration
- Assist in helping employees to understand North Park policies, procedures, and benefits by answering a variety of questions.
- Update all open enrollment and benefits guide materials.
- Stay abreast of changes to city, state and federal regulations as it pertains to FLSA and DOL.
- Manage and administer Retiree Benefits Program.
- Process TIAA annual retirement plan disclosures.
- Perform monthly insurance vendor billing reconciliation.
- Work with supervisor when a leave is requested by an employee. This includes policy review with employee, completion of forms (STD, LTD, and FMLA) and consult with the HR Lead to ensure compliance and eligibility.
- Update Title IX Coordinator about confidential pregnancy leave requests.
Office Administration
- Serve as back up to the HR Generalist with payroll operations to run semi0monthly and bi-weekly payrolls for an estimate of 600 plus employees.
- Hand out and assist employees with filling out general HR information/forms.
- Prepare and distribute the faculty/staff weekly announcements.
- Work with HR Lead on employee annual compliance training– Title IX, Harassment and Discrimination, Anti-Bullying, Workplace Safety, New employee Training.
- Maintain/update supply of HR forms.
- Establish and maintain employee records and office administrative files.
