POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Coordinator works as a part of a team that coordinates the daily activities of workers, production, processes, and conformance to quality standards.  The Production Coordinator’s assigned team and tasks will vary based on business necessity.

POSITION DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Ensure employees comply with safety, quality, and productivity requirements and procedures
  • Delegate work of employees and oversee training
  • Regular/dependable attendance required
  • Flexibility of work hours including overtime
  • Use of hand tools and machinery is required
  • Must be able to work well with little or no supervision
  • Responsible for knowledge of various aspects of scheduling
  • Basic 5s requirements such as managing aisle integrity, shadow boards, footprints, and hour by hour boards
  • Responsible for assisting in the on-boarding process and cross-training of employees
  • Accountable for two-way communication with Supervisor and management regarding the performance of employees and the department
  • Must be able to work as a part of a team to work toward the greater good of the department by coordinating and communicating production needs between shifts
  • Must be able to assist the Production Supervisor with coaching and documentation as well as keep the Supervisor informed of employee and line issues.
  • Participates in EFCO's Continuous Improvement efforts by understanding his/her team's performance and actively implementing and supporting process improvements.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; 0-1 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock, vibration, and seasonal high/low temperatures and humidity. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, requiring hearing protection. Must be willing and able to comply with all plant safety regulations including wearing appropriate PPE when on the production floor

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Regularly required to stand, reach, bend, talk, hear and move about the facility. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, occasionally push up to 100 pounds and pull up to 118 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
