Sinclair Ventures is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director/Principal that will be responsible for overseeing the existing $1.0 billion non-media private equity portfolio.
The Director/Principal will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of our investment portfolio, managing relationships with stakeholders, and overseeing deal execution. Key Responsibilities:
In close collaboration with Sinclair’s CEO and Executive Vice Chairman, the Director/Principal will:
- Industry & Company Identification: Identify targeted industries and conduct extensive research to identify key companies within those industries that align with the Sinclair Ventures investment strategy.
- Investment Strategy & Execution: Lead and manage the evaluation, structuring, and execution of investments across various sectors. Identify and develop new investment opportunities, conducting thorough due diligence and financial analysis. Demonstrate strong investment judgment by balancing the firm’s risk posture with the potential for financial upside.
- Portfolio Management: Oversee the performance and strategic direction of portfolio companies, working closely with management teams to drive operational improvements, growth, and value creation.
- Networking & Deal Sourcing: Leverage a deep and broad network of relationships to source high-quality, risk-mitigated investment opportunities.
- Board Involvement: Hold board seats and work closely with the Private Equity team to monitor and manage portfolio companies, adding value through strategic oversight and operational improvements.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Participate in Sinclair’s Senior Leadership Team and Investment Committee, serving as a mentor and culture carrier who promotes a positive and collaborative work environment. Manage and mentor junior investment professionals and analysts, providing guidance, support, and career development.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, management teams, co-investors, and legal and financial advisors.
- Asset Management & Real Estate Investing: Oversee the Asset Management/Real Estate Investing Group to ensure the firm’s investment strategy is aligned with performance goals.
- Financial Analysis & Reporting: Lead the financial modeling, valuation, and structuring of deals. Present investment recommendations to the executive leadership team.
Qualifications:

- Track Record of Excellence: 10-20+ years of private equity success, with a history of dominating the full deal cycle - strategy, sector valuation, investment thesis development, deal sourcing, execution and exits. Consistently deployed $50M+ annually over the last five years, delivering standout returns.
- Strategic Precision: Deep expertise in private equity and capital markets, with a knack for identifying and capitalizing on value-creation opportunities in complex settings.
- Network Strength: A well-honed ability to leverage connections for consistent, top-tier deal flow - relationships are your fuel for results.
