Summer Intern - Youth Programs Operations and Marketing (hybrid)

Contract Period: June 5th - August 11th

Pay: $20/hr

Mission Bit is a non-profit organization that aims to inspire youth of color to explore the world of STEM with project-based computer science education that embraces their identities. We are seeking a Summer Intern to join our team and support our marketing and youth programs operations. The successful candidate will work closely with our programs team, observe in-person classes, collaborate with our Student Advisory Board (SAB) to execute projects, and assist with social media management.

This position is sponsored by FutureMap, and eligibility requirements are as follows: first-gen, low-income college students who are pursuing an Associate or a Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the success of our organization by working alongside our team for the internship.
• Develop a deep understanding of Mission Bit's procedures and gain valuable hands-on experience, transferable skills, and knowledge.
• Learn about program management, effective communication, and leadership.
• Assist in planning and executing official summer coding bootcamp events.
• Chaperone field trips to tech companies alongside our instructors to gather social media content.
• Work with our Student Advisory Board (SAB) Leadership team at in-person meetings.
• Create posts for key platforms and develop a multi-post campaign according to marketing goals and best practices.
• Analyze metrics for campaign success.
• Complete special projects.
  

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing an Associate or a Bachelor’s degree.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Interest in and knowledge of social media platforms.
• Proficiency in Google Drive and design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Passion for education and social impact.
• Able to work in person in the SF Bay Area.
