Mission Bit is a non-profit organization that aims to inspire youth of color to explore the world of STEM with project-based computer science education that embraces their identities. We are seeking a Summer Intern to join our team and support our marketing and youth programs operations. The successful candidate will work closely with our programs team, observe in-person classes, collaborate with our Student Advisory Board (SAB) to execute projects, and assist with social media management.
This position is sponsored by FutureMap, and eligibility requirements are as follows: first-gen, low-income college students who are pursuing an Associate or a Bachelor’s degree.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the success of our organization by working alongside our team for the internship.
- Develop a deep understanding of Mission Bit's procedures and gain valuable hands-on experience, transferable skills, and knowledge.
- Learn about program management, effective communication, and leadership.
- Assist in planning and executing official summer coding bootcamp events.
- Chaperone field trips to tech companies alongside our instructors to gather social media content.
- Work with our Student Advisory Board (SAB) Leadership team at in-person meetings.
- Create posts for key platforms and develop a multi-post campaign according to marketing goals and best practices.
- Analyze metrics for campaign success.
- Complete special projects.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing an Associate or a Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Interest in and knowledge of social media platforms.
- Proficiency in Google Drive and design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Passion for education and social impact.
- Able to work in person in the SF Bay Area.
