Chiesi Global Rare Diseases

Chiesi Global Rare Diseases is a Chiesi Group’s business unit established in February 2020 and focused on research, development and commercialization of treatments and patient support services for rare and ultra-rare disorders, many of whom have limited or no treatments available.

 

This unit is based in Boston, Massachusetts, with a strong synergy with the headquarters in Parma. 

 

Rare unit has a focus on research and product development for lysosomal storage diseases, rare hematology, ophthalmology disorders and rare immunodeficiencies. The unit is also a dedicated partner with global leaders in scientific research, patient advocacy and care. Discover more here.

 

Who we are looking for

This is what you will do

The Patient Education Liaison (PEL) is a field-based member of the Patient Services team. The PEL supports patients by providing disease and product education to patients, families, and community members to help empower the patient to navigate through their disease journey.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Lead education efforts of disease state, genetics, diagnostic and product information to patients and families
  • Develop relationships with patients and caregivers through phone, text, email, virtual, and in person connections
  • Assess individual needs of the patients and develop an appropriate education and resource plan of action, considering the patient’s family, team of healthcare providers, and community members
  • Work closely with specialty pharmacy partner team members to ensure smooth, efficient, and effective patient care delivery
  • Increase disease awareness by completing community and healthcare educational outreach
  • Adhere to professional standards compliance guidelines, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

You will need to have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Board-Certified Genetic Counselor
  • 5+ years of rare disease experience/pharmaceutical industry
  • Pharmaceutical reimbursement experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of applications
  • Highly developed time management skills
  • Advanced communication skills, coordination, and planning skills along with the ability to interact with a variety of audiences to build collaboration on consensus
  • Intellectual curiosity to look at a problem from all sides to recognize issues and opportunities

Location

Field-Based/Remote position, up to 60% travel as necessary to meet job requirements; Territory encompasses Central US region.  #LI-Remote

Compensation

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $161,280 to $197,120. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. If hired, the employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/t
