Your journey starts now—protect and innovate with MANTECH!MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Senior to join our vehicle sustainment team in Fort Stewart, Georgia. The selected candidate will provide maintenance and logistics support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, or tractors.
Replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; overhauling transmissions; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.
Maintenance support includes operations, system troubleshooting, engineering, design, installation, analysis, maintenance and repair of U.S. systems and subsystems to component level.
Effectively applies industry or military standard troubleshooting procedures to localize and isolate faulty system components.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
6+ years of qualified automotive maintenance experience. 1 year college in related field accepted in lieu of 1.5 years' experience. Relevant Technical Training certificate accepted in lieu of 1 year experience.
Experience with a variety of hand tools, diagnostic tools, power tools, multi-meters
Ability to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening.
Must possess a Valid Driver’s License for the location in which the work will be performed.
Ability to meet the government deployment physical requirements, if needed.
High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior training or maintenance experience on MRAP FOV systems.
Qualified mechanical experience includes one or more of the following: light or heavy-duty trucks, tractors, tactical vehicles, aviation ground support systems, generators, power plants, aircraft or any diesel or gasoline powered equipment or vehicle.
Experience applying industry and/or military standard troubleshooting procedures to isolate faulty system components.
