About the role

Role Description

National Account Directors for National Community Oncology Networks are tasked with building and maintaining strong relationships with the major national community oncology provider networks (such as AON and Athena). Serving as the main liaison for these networks' executive leadership, they oversee population health initiatives, communicate the value of our oral contracts, and collaborate with the National Accounts team on transactional matters. These directors work alongside the National Account TL and the National Account Collaboration Team, which includes GPO NADs, KADs/KAD TLs with member practices, assigned ABMs, OSADs, ODLs, relevant medical colleagues, and the brand teams. Additionally, the Community Oncology NAD supports commercial activities for prominent professional oncology organizations like NCODA and OnCare Alliance, engaging closely with Relationship Managers in the Patient Solutions A&PR Team.

Strong business acumen and an understanding of the complexities associated with the evolving healthcare environment are required for success. This includes a strong working knowledge of the Oncology market, and both Community Oncology and GPO dynamics. Outstanding project management & communication skills are critical including advancing quality-based initiatives at scale that mutually align with the Oncology BU’s portfolio priorities and the networks patient care and population health management priorities. NADs proactively strategize with Pfizer internal stakeholders (Commercial Teams, HQ platform Teams, National Accounts Team and other OAG colleagues) to execute in an alignment with Brand Team, Oncology BU and Pfizer organizational strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring of key market trends; prioritization of accounts and account opportunities; identification of areas of mutual interest between Pfizer and networks; development and execution of focused, strategic account plans for all assigned accounts with integrity
  • Advancing quality-based initiatives and projects with customers that mutually align with the BU’s portfolio priorities and the networks’ patient care and population health management priorities
  • Effectively and compliantly engaging appropriate customer targets (executive and administrative level personnel) with respect to pricing and value messages in support of the full Oncology portfolio
  • Appropriately and compliantly communicating and collaborating with cross-functional field-based colleagues aligned to the National Collaboration Team to ensure optimal and aligned appropriate coverage and engagement. Effective communication with KADs/KAD TLs that have accountability for member practices.
  • Aligning with HQ stakeholders ( Portfolio Marketing, Portfolio Acceleration and Brand Marketing teams) to ensure appropriate understanding of, and support for, achievement of KPIs and goal
  • Complying with all Corporate Policies and Procedures, while conducting all job-related activities with integrity and adherence to Pfizer’s high standards of business conduct.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical (or related) experience with a proven track record of performance and meeting organizational goals. 
  • 5+ years or more of demonstrated success in account management, with a strong track record of relationship management and securing results in customer-facing roles. 
  • 3+ years Oncology experience/expertise strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in engaging Network Aggregator Accounts
  • Contracting experience preferred.  Demonstrated success working with GPOs and/or Specialty Oncology National Accounts.  Includes a full understanding of GPO member relationships and health care and provider-practice economics
  • Strong understanding of evolving healthcare landscape in US, including US Healthcare Reform, and impact on organized provider accounts/customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully engage and deliver impact among executive/administrative level personnel at large accounts.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and to formulate, develop, write, communicate and monitor the execution of stakeholder business plans
  • Demonstrated experience in executing and in overseeing highly complex programs and projects (i.e., strong project management skills).
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating effectively and gaining alignment with colleagues across different parts of the organization (including field and HQ), and leading cross-functional teams.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree required

• MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred
