DESCRIPTION
Temporary employees serve in various roles at our central offices and in school-based roles such as substitutes, coaches, advisors, lunch and recess monitors, home and hospital teachers, and clerical support.
Under the direction of the Executive Director, Human Resources and the Coordinator, Recruitment and Hiring, the Supervisor, Temporary Services will oversee the team responsible for the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, and management of all temporary employees. The Supervisor will evaluate existing systems and practices and identify efficiencies and process improvements to ensure documented and consistent processes. Additionally, the Supervisor will be responsible for developing and implementing ongoing substitute teacher training, creating resources for school-based temporary employees in the Temporary Services Canvas community, and providing leadership to the system-wide use of the Frontline Absence Management System. The Supervisor will be the primary point of contact for all HCPSS schools and departments regarding the hiring and management of temporary employees.
The ideal candidate for this role will be experienced in change management and utilize exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills to understand and address the needs of all stakeholders in the hiring and management of temporary employees. This role requires a keen eye for both the big picture and the critical details, and the ideal candidate excels in process improvement and identifying efficiencies to create a consistent, effective temporary services lifecycle.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
Three years of professional experience in education, human resources, or a related field, which includes experience holding leadership roles or leading programs or projects.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated long-range planning and project management experience.
Three years of experience in a PreK-12 public school system.
Two years of supervisory experience with two or more direct reports.
Experience managing employee performance including conflict or dispute resolution.
Experience developing and delivering training to adult learners.
Experience applying labor law and human resources best practices to recruitment and hiring.
Experience using Workday Recruiting or a similar applicant tracking system.
Experience using online absence management systems within a PreK-12 public school system.
