SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Provide support to program front desk staff as floater to all office locations (NE and IA) when coverage is needed. Duties will include serving as first point of contact for clients and visitors to the office, various clerical duties such as data entry as well as some phone-based contact with clients. The Support Specialist will also perform skilled duties of a broad nature. Assignments may entail a wide knowledge base. Initiative, decision making/problem solving, and strong organization skills are required. Adaptability is also required, as this Support Specialist will potentially travel between offices frequently.
Compensation: between $16.51 and $19.69 per hour (determined by years of experience)
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, with one late evening (37.5 hours per week), schedule to be determined with hiring supervisor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s Degree preferred; but not required
- Four years experience
- Proficiency in basic office skills and personal computer skills
- Must be willing to work one or two evenings per week if coverage is needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- *Performs reception duties, accurately takes messages and gives appropriate directions to clients and general public; assists all visitors, clients, and staff in processing their inquires.
- *Schedule client appointments.
- *Completes data entry, uploading files, etc. in both internal and external databases including electronic health record(s), in an accurate and timely manner.
- Demonstrates knowledge of current community and Heartland Family Service programs and resources to meet client needs.
- *Ensures that client databases are maintained per established procedures.
- Assist in coordinating client groups/events (prepare conference space, order food, maintain a registration list).
- *Display a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele, volunteers, and visitors of the Agency.
- Cooperates and collaborate with program area staff, volunteers, and other Agency staff.
- *Is punctual and dependable regarding scheduling and attendance. Maintains clean and organized reception area and performs opening and/or closing duties.
- Abide by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements.
- Develop personal and program related skills through participation in internal and external training opportunities including printed material and audio and/or visual media.
- Is able to work both independently, with little supervision, and as part of a team.
- Perform other program/office related duties as assigned.
