Job Description

What you'll be doing:

  • Building an awareness of the publishing and pharmaceutical industries by networking, market research, benchmarking and competitor analysis. 
  • Increasing external awareness of Taylor & Francis, including the medical/pharmaceutical journal portfolio (including T&F, Dove Press and F1000 imprints) and its range of publication services.
  • Building strong relationships with pharmaceutical/medical industry publication-focused clients, acting as a Key Account Manager and representing Taylor & Francis’ medical/pharmaceutical journal portfolio.
  • Driving submissions of articles to Taylor & Francis’ medical/pharmaceutical journal portfolio.
  • Developing commercial services business with selected clients.
  • Representing Taylor & Francis at conferences, external workshops/webinars and client meetings.
  • Reporting on market/regulatory developments that potentially impact Taylor & Francis’ publication business.
  • Submitting monthly reports on account list, outreach activities and revenue-generating activities.
  • Maintaining and updating centralized records of key accounts and their activity, including making and developing growth plans for key accounts and detailed recordings of account activity and objectives.
  • Ensuring continued product development, e.g. by gathering client feedback, market research, engagement with industry groups
  • Working closely with Editorial, Sales, Marketing and Administration to ensure cohesive strategies and processes supporting growth of the business and quality of service.

Qualifications

What we're looking for:

  • The ideal candidate will have:
    • Good knowledge of publication management and development within academia and the biotech/pharmaceutical industry
    • Medical Publishing or Medical Communications experience
    • Detailed knowledge of relevant publication guidelines (such as ICJME, COPE and GPP)
    • Proven experience in active networking and external representation
    • Proven ability to work autonomously to drive business growth

Additional Information

What we offer in return:

  • Annual salary of $86,000 - $91,600 + up to 10% annual performance incentive bonus
    • Salary commensurate to factors such as experience and geographic location
