The Opportunity Reporting to the CEO, the Senior Director of Finance will lead the function, including financial planning & analysis, accounting, recording, procurement, treasury, and tax. The Senior Director of Finance will work closely with functional leadership to build robust, scalable systems, processes, and capabilities appropriate to a high-growth startup. This critical position will have exposure to every aspect of the organization and play a key role in ensuring Rezo achieves its strategic objectives.

The Opportunity Reporting to the CEO, the Senior Director of Finance will lead the function, including financial planning & analysis, accounting, recording, procurement, treasury, and tax. The Senior Director of Finance will work closely with functional leadership to build robust, scalable systems, processes, and capabilities appropriate to a high-growth startup. What You’ll Do:
- Drive long-range planning, annual operating planning, scenario modeling, and periodic re-forecasting processes
- Partner with senior leaders and budget owners by providing strategic and operational finance guidance
- Oversee month-end and quarter-end closes, variance analysis and reporting
- Collaborate effectively across functions and programs to understand key performance drivers and establish effective metrics to proactively manage cash burn
- Lead accounting operations, ensuring proper accounting treatment of all transactions and completeness and accuracy of financial information
- Provide guidance on all technical accounting matters
- Prepare and present financial information to Board of Directors
- Coordinate quarterly and annual investor reporting, ensuring all financial obligations in Series A (and future round) financing documents are met
- Bring efficient & effective systems and processes to the company, striking a balance between right-size and scalable
- Construct analytical frameworks and financial models that enable strategic decision making
- Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis
- Manage treasury to ensure availability of required capital and maximize returns
- Oversee procurement, including negotiation of agreements, purchase of goods & services, and supplier relationship management
- Oversee financial policies, procedures, internal controls, and tax
- Own interactions with auditors and tax consultants
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Economics and 10+ years of financial and accounting experience in the life sciences industry, in both private and public companies is ideal
- MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred
- Strong business acumen; proven ability to effectively scrutinize and challenge assumptions and interpret the strategy and priorities of the organization in financial terms
- Excellent project management / consultative skills with demonstrated track record and ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholders
- Strong presentation skills to succinctly and effectively frame complex concepts and deliver recommendations to senior executives
- Experience in managing people and building and leading teams, including leading people managers
- Able to set direction, strategy, vision for the Finance function and make decisions on functional planning, budget, and hiring
- Able to exemplify and hold direct reports and others accountable to the management standards of the company
