The Team
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Physiotherapist, with a passion for rehabilitation type care including in the older person, to join our Rehabilitation Physiotherapy Team. This team is based in Southern Tasmania across the various RHH campuses (with considerable services at the Repatriation Centre) and provides physiotherapy care to patients at RHH campuses as well as patient homes, across Southern Tasmania. Duties include:
• Provision of goal-directed, person-centred care
• Leading quality improvement projects and service development
• Supervision of allied health assistants, level 1-2 physiotherapists, or physiotherapy students as required
The Senior Physiotherapist will be a member of the Rehabilitation Physiotherapy Team and from time to time may support other areas of the service within their scope of practice. The Rehabilitation Team services include transition care, geriatric rehabilitation, palliative care, psychogeriatrics, and acute rehabilitation.

The Role
- Provide and maintain optimal specialist physiotherapy services within the Southern region of Tasmania.
- Provide professional guidance and support to level 1-2 Physiotherapists and support staff.
- Assess plan and implement treatment programs for patients requiring physiotherapy.
- Educate patients, carers and other members of the health care team.
- Provide clinical leadership and support for Level 1-2 Physiotherapists, Allied Health Assistants, Physiotherapy students, and work experience students.
- Work as an effective member of multidisciplinary teams in achieving patient-focused outcomes.
- Act as a physiotherapy resource in designated area of physiotherapy.
- Implement, review and report on quality improvement, education and research activities and projects undertaken for the Physiotherapy Department as required.
- Provide expert advice regarding the upgrading and maintenance of stores, and hygiene and safety of equipment.

You will need
- Significant general and specific physiotherapist experience relevant to the identified clinical area/unit in conjunction with sound knowledge of relevant contemporary physiotherapy practice including assessment, intervention techniques, literature, resources and equipment.
- Proven commitment to ongoing professional development and ability to supervise and educate other health professionals, undergraduate students and support workers and a continuing contribution to knowledge in the identified clinical area/unit.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a complex multidisciplinary environment.

Details of appointment
Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for 12 months.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary
$117,272 to $126,182 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2025.
