Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Project Architect III to join our Columbus, Ohio office. This role is ideal for an architect who is continuing to build their technical and design skills and is excited to work in a collaborative, studio-based environment.

You will work alongside experienced architects, designers, and engineers on a variety of projects, supporting the team through design, documentation, and construction phases. This position offers hands-on project experience, mentorship, and the opportunity to grow within AECOM’s architecture practice.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support project teams through all phases of design and documentation

  • Assist with developing drawings, models, and presentations

  • Coordinate with engineers and other disciplines under the guidance of senior staff

  • Help incorporate design ideas and technical requirements into project deliverables

  • Participate in team meetings, design reviews, and client presentations

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop design concepts for the design lead and client review.  
  • Prepare design and contract drawings using Revit and modeling/ graphics software.  
  • Coordinate design efforts and deliverables of design consultants and project team
  • Assist with the management and mentoring of less-experienced project team members.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture plus four (4) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Licensed as a registered architect or proven steps towards licensure, preferably in Ohio
  • Knowledge of buildings systems and material.
  • Proficient in Revit with 3D modeling skills in Sketchup and/or Rhino.
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Ability to produce design intent renderings and design concept diagrams. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification as a LEED Accredited Professional by the USGBC
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, open office work environment
  • Diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Relocation is not available for this position.

  • Occasional travel is required for this position.
