Let’s paint the picture of the role

We are looking for a visionary Transformation Manager to lead the ambitious redesign and transformation of our Customer Experience Centre for specialty coatings at our site in Sassenheim. This role is pivotal as we enhance our facility into a state-of-the-art customer hub for training, application, demos and meetings, incorporating cutting-edge and industry leading technologies in multiple coating segments such as Vehicle Refinish and Aerospace.

Lead Transformation Initiatives: Spearhead the planning, design, and realization of the revamped Sassenheim Customer Experience Centre, ensuring it meets the needs of AkzoNobel’s Automotive and Specialty Coatings business and beyond.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with sales and technical leaders across business segments to integrate creative and functional designs based on their input and feedback.

Seamless Management: Ensure a smooth transition from the current facility to the new one (which is not in a different place: it’s a transformation of the already used space) with minimal disruption, while managing all aspects of the existing facility from maintenance to customer training.

Future Facility Management: Post-revamp, take on the role of Facility and Coatings Experience Manager to maximize the utilization of the centre, maintaining high standards and serving as the host to the organization and external visitors (especially customers).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and relentlessly drive comprehensive strategic and operational plans and schedules for the facility transformation.
  • Manage procurement and contractor relationships, ensuring compliance with AkzoNobel policies.
  • Ensure the facility is equipped with state of the art digital and technical capabilities for current and future needs.
  • Maintain operational continuity of the current facility during the transformation.
  • Foster strong relationships with all stakeholders and suppliers, ensuring transparency and timely communication.

What You Will Bring

  • Extensive demonstrated expertise in complex project management, ideally with real estate related or similar CAPEX intensive projects.
  • Experience in the coatings industry, preferably in Vehicle Refinish, Commercial Vehicles, Aerospace, or related segments.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management and decision-making skills.
  • A visionary, creative and independent mindset with a practical, solution-focused approach.
  • Ability to handle pressure and complex situations during transformative processes.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and financial acumen.

What do we offer in return?

It’s a two-way street. This means that we offer not only a competitive salary but also believe in a healthy work-life balance.

  • Above average number of annual holidays and leave days. 46 days off.
  • Participation in the AkzoNobel pension plan.
  • Fixed bonus.
  • Travel expenses to and from work.
  • Opportunities for ongoing education and professional development.
