DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Electro-Mechanical Engineer is a key position responsible for designing and developing new technologies for use in construction. The Engineer’s responsibilities span across innovation, engineering, technical oversight duties and field support. This position collaborates with team members and customers on high quality engineering designs while supporting field mechanics and technicians with troubleshooting and problem solving. Addition, this role is responsible for maintaining all intellectual property according to quality system best practices.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and support the manufacture of patented technologies
Collaborate with outside vendors and developers on technical options and solutions
Gather feedback from customers for consideration for design improvements and development of new technologies
Provide troubleshooting assistance and training
Develop solid models, assemblies and drawings using Solidworks CAD software
Facilitate design review with team members and leadership, as appropriate
Specify quality assurance and quality control guidelines
Specify standard maintenance protocols
Develop testing practices to ensure design integrity, including stress testing and structural analysis
Collaborate on design and improvements of proprietary controls logic and user interface
Troubleshoot problems in real-world field situations quickly and effectively communicate with all stakeholders
Develop and maintain all documents applying document and design control best practices. This includes all design documentation, test plans, response plans, maintenance plans, etc.
Maintain documentation of all incoming issues, resolutions and results to build out our knowledge base.
Develop, publish and maintain/update/refine user manuals and training manuals.
Contribute to R&D and manufacturing planning, as well as cost budgeting discussions.
Collaborate with leadership on R&D project business case development
Lead R&D projects while adhering to approved plans
Participate in strategy meetings and planning
Other duties as assigned
