Banner Thunderbird Medical Center Inpatient Pharmacy is a department made up of seventy pharmacists and technicians. As an Acute Pharmacy Technician, you will have the opportunity to work in different areas of the pharmacy and continuously grow as a technician. You will have the tools to help educate and train in multiple areas of the pharmacy which include but are not limited to non- sterile, sterile, and hazardous compounding, Pyxis and technology, inventory management, billing and more. Technology such as Pyxis ES and PharmacyKeeper, along with Cerner and computerized physician order entry allows for improved safety and efficiency in medication management. This is a part-time day shift position working three 8-hour shifts per week (24 hours per week) from 6:00am-2:30pm requiring 2 weekday shifts per week and every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and rotating holidays. The schedule operates on a two-week rotation:
Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday.
Week 2: Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
Enjoy a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-night shift differential when applicable. Schedules subject to change based on business needs.

This position will work under the supervision of the pharmacist performing routine duties in packaging, distribution, non-sterile compounding, and record-keeping of pharmaceutical supplies. Serves as a liaison between the customer and the pharmacist. Becomes proficient in preparing compounded intravenous medications, total parenteral nutrition products, and chemotherapeutic agents within compliance with USP regulations. Effectively uses pharmacy computer systems to investigate and respond to missing medication requests. Consistently demonstrates an ability to assess a situation, consider alternatives, and choose the appropriate course of action.
