Description
The School of Health Professions (SHP) at Stony Brook University invites applicants to apply for a faculty position in the Department of Health Science. This is a non-tenure track, 12-month faculty appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. The position resides at Stony Brook University’s Health Sciences Center
The Program Director for the Radiologic Technology program will work collaboratively with and report to the Chairperson of the Department of Health Science. The Program Director is expected to maintain a teaching load in areas of expertise within the Radiologic Technology and Health Science curriculums and participate in scholarship and service while providing leadership and vision to the program through oversight of curriculum, scheduling, and instructional delivery of didactic and clinical requirements, directing and overseeing innovative recruitment, admissions and retention strategies, and ensuring program accreditation standards are met.

The School of Health Professions’ Department of Health Science offers a variety of certificate programs (EMT, Paramedic, MRI), the B.S. in Health Science degree, and 5-year pathway programs in Radiologic Technology, Radiation Therapy, and Medical Dosimetry. Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) earned or in progress with a completion date no later than January 1, 2026. New York State licensed radiographer with at least five (5) years of experience full-time or full-time equivalent. Experience teaching radiologic technology-associated content. Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification. One (1) year of administrative or supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as the program director of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited radiography program. Record serving as a clinical coordinator or clinical preceptor for radiography students. Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT-RT(MR)). Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in Computed Tomography (AART-RT(CT)).
