Patient Care Assistant - Cancer Center Infusion Center (M-F 8a-5p Full Time)

The UMC Cancer Center has a Clinic and Infusion Center that provide care to adult and pediatric patients with non-cancerous, hematology and/or oncology conditions.
Chemotherapy administration and practices are followed using ONS guidelines and institutional policies and procedures. Protocol participation is also available. Therapies include but are not limited to: chemotherapy via ambulatory infusion pump, intravenous, intrathecal, IM or SQ route, therapeutic phlebotomy, administration of blood and blood products, anti-emetic therapy, IV immunotherapy and IV hydration.
Clinic nurses are responsible for coordination of care with provider, messages, medication refills, ensuring patient appointments are scheduled and the effective management of the overall clinic.

PCAs are responsible for providing basic patient care under the supervision of a nurse. The duties generally include observing patients, recording vital signs, performing EKGs, drawing labs, non-sterile dressing changes, removing IVs, removing foley catheters, and reporting changes in patient conditions.

Qualifications
Valid PCA certification through UMC (see Education Record) or PCT certification also acceptable
Must maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart Association
