Your software will take off and fly (and land). As an embedded software engineer, you will create high quality products that meet rigid safety and airworthiness standards for flight.   

Our department continues to push the technology envelope for processing technologies in everything from operating systems to user applications and the middleware which binds these together.   

What You Will Do

  • You will design, develop, and maintain flight-critical embedded software for military and commercial aviation solutions and avionics products.   
  • You will utilize embedded Linux operating systems, C/C++ code, networking protocols, device drivers, hardware interface tools, simulations, and integrated development environments in creative ways for this new product.  
  • You will specify requirements, implement software, develop test procedures, perform verification, and complete artifacts for certification.  


What You Will Learn

  • You will learn the technologies of today and tomorrow which we count on to maintain world leadership in the avionics industry.  
  • You will learn all phases of the software product life cycle from requirements through to verification, while employing the company software engineering processes to produce high quality products.  

Qualifications You Must Have

  • C/C++ programming experience utilizing  
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience collaborating with teams in the planning, design, and development of solutions.  
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. 

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
