Registered Radiation Therapist - as needed

Join our dedicated Cancer Center team as a Registered Radiation Therapist, where you'll play a vital role in delivering compassionate, precise radiation therapy to patients under the supervision of a Radiation Oncologist. This position combines technical expertise with patient-centered care, ensuring safe and effective treatment in accordance with prescribed protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform simulations and coordinate treatment planning for new patients

• Assist with intracavitary and interstitial implants and prepare HDR treatment rooms

• Verify dosimetry data and maintain accurate treatment documentation

• Deliver radiation treatments with precision, adhering to safety regulations

• Communicate clearly with patients and families, ensuring comfort and understanding

• Complete billing and charge entry using Meditech and VARIS systems

Qualifications

• Education: A.A./A.S. in Radiologic or Radiation Therapy Technology

• Experience: 1+ year preferred in Radiation Therapy

• Licensure: ARRT in Radiation Therapy, Maryland Radiation Therapist License

• Certification: Current BLS (CPR)

• Strong attention to detail and ability to concentrate for extended periods

• Excellent oral and written communication

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain patient safety

Working Conditions

• Exposure to radiation, hazardous chemicals, and bodily fluids

• Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and fine motor coordination
