Job Summary:

The goal of the Nursing Pathway Program is to introduce students to the nursing profession and 
the diverse career opportunities it offers, fostering an early interest in nursing. During this 
program, the interns will work alongside the nurse manager and interdisciplinary team of a hospital unit, allowing them to see first-hand what it is like to work in a hospital environment and learn from professionals.

Eligibility:

Have a parent or legal guardian that is an 1199SEIU Mount Sinai Health System employee
Be a rising junior or senior actively enrolled in a NYC High School with a GPA of 3.0 or 
higher
Submit an application along with the following items:

o Most recent high school transcript
o List of relevant completed course work
o Description of any extracurricular activities, particularly those related to healthcare 
or community service
o Personal statement
o One letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or community leader

Skills and Qualifications:
Demonstrate an interest in nursing through coursework, volunteer work, or extracurricular 
activities
Exhibit strong communication and teamwork skills
Be committed to attending all sessions of the program
