About the role

The Multimedia Developer – 3D will contribute to company success by designing and creating 3D images for use in company training video modules. They will provide next level graphics to be used in training materials designed and built by the content team in order to significantly increase understanding for team members of automotive systems and other concepts delivered via the learning platform.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Design and create 3D animations as specified to support various company training initiatives, including automotive part/system knowledge, product demonstrations, procedural demonstrations, leadership training, and other job specific learning.

Utilize 3D animation software such as Blender, Autodesk Maya, or Cinema 4D to model, rig, texture, and animate assets.

Collaborate with the design and development team to integrate animations into larger multimedia projects.

Process and render high-quality animations and visual effects for inclusion in training videos and interactive courses while ensuring file size meets system and server specifications.

Edit and refine animations based on team feedback and peer reviews.

Use audio, text, and other assets provided by the design team to enhance the animation experience.

Maintain and update 3D assets for training materials when content is revised by subject matter experts.

Capture and edit images using both digital and traditional tools as required for project needs.

Follow appropriate copyright and use of image protocols and legal requirements.

Document animation workflows and project efforts for future reference.

Assist in audio syncing and post-production tasks.

Support the localization of animations into different languages, when needed.

Participate in peer review of created content.

Periodically audits or updates files to ensure accuracy.

Participate in audio recording, video productions, or photo shoots in various roles either behind or in-front of the camera/microphone as needed.

All other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

Experience using 3D animation software, Adobe Premiere and Adobe Photoshop.

Experience using software such as Blender, Autodesk Maya, Cinema 4D.

Demonstrated 3D design and animation expertise for both creating and editing of assets and managing file size.

Solid design skills to turn concepts into compelling, interactive training courses.

Working understanding of copyright and legal use of materials considerations.

Ability to manage and prioritize work on multiple projects at one time. 

Organized, detail oriented, and able to work independently and with other team members.

Desired:

Bachelor’s degree in the areas of multimedia production, instructional technology, computer science, graphic design, or a similar field; or equivalent experience.

Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, and Pro Tools.

Experience with Articulate or other e-Learning course building.

Automotive parts knowledge.

Strong written and verbal skills.
