Description:

Position Overview:

The Medical Director will serve as a key clinical leader within the ACO, working in close collaboration with the ACO Administrative Director, Executive Committee, and the Site Leads at WCM, CU and NYP to drive clinical excellence and operational efficiency. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of clinical operations, quality improvement, and population health management. The Medical Director will oversee the implementation of clinical strategies, ensure adherence to best practices, and contribute to the achievement of the ACO's performance goals.

Essential Duties:

Leads ACO care redesign efforts by working with physician leadership at Weill Cornell and Columbia and clinical leadership at NYP to identify, design and implement evidence-based care processes
Collaborates with ACO Administrative Director to identify strategies for reducing unnecessary utilization and improving efficiency from a population health perspective
Serves as clinical liaison to physician and hospital partners in ACO programs and alternative payment models including Accountable Provider Organizations, Patient-Centered Medical Homes, Accountable Specialty Care Programs, Bundled Payments, and Pay-for-Performance Programs.
Works with administrative and clinical leadership to ensure the success of ACO initiatives
Works with Care Management, Coding Documentation Improvement Specialist, Utilization Management and Medical Operations teams collaboratively to provide updates from network team and to maximize care programs where appropriate.
Works with NewYork Quality Care analytics and quality teams to provide clinical guidance

Qualifications:

Minimum of three years post-residency experience in the practice of medicine
Demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare setting, with a proven ability to drive quality improvement and care coordination
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
Extensive experience in clinical practice with a comprehensive understanding of ACO models, value-based care, and population health management

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Public Health or Business Administration
Experience in a leadership role within an ACO or similar healthcare organization
Academic appointment at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons or Weill Cornell Medicine

The salary range for this 0.3 FTE position is $65,100 - $91,500
