Yard driver

 

 

Responsible for performing basic yard jockey duties such as yard checks and daily operations of the yard. 

 

Your Tasks 

• Must be able to operate a terminal tractor as a driver 

• Daily inspection of containers and yard tractors 

• Manage equipment, and otherwise ensure the safe and smooth maneuvering of all trailers 

• Report any observed safety hazards or issues 

• Manage up to 53 foot trailers within the yard from customer drop off 

• Remove truck from dock and place in storage area 

• Will not be responsible for driving trailers off yards 

• Assist with unloading 

• Other job tasks or duties as assigned within the warehouse or in the yard 

  

Your Profile 

• Must have valid driver’s license 

• Must have clean driving record 

• Knowledge of driving safety and regulations 

• CDL – required 

• Prior experience as a Yard Driver is a plus 

• Prior experience using stand up forklift, cherry picker, and reach trucker 

• Possess ability to function in a high-pressure, fast-moving environment 

• Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time 

• Possibly heavy lifting if required to unload trailers manually 

• Travel Requirements: Must be able to support different locations in Louisville and Shepherdsville
