Overview:
We are seeking a Travel Customer Support Specialist who will support the Conference & Travel Management Group in the Accounting Operations Division, Business Services Directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).
As part of our team, you will…
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service to travel population.
- Review and resolve general ledger that have outstanding travel items that have not posted completely.
- Analyze and review travel related documents submitted by staff, students, prospective employees, contractors, and guests to ensure documentation is valid as supporting documentation.
- Support traveler and/or administrative assistant as needed to complete trip request or assisting with entering travel expenses.
- Assist with system testing documentation.
- Monitor all travel postings to ledger as needed.
- Responsible for reviewing and maintaining specific travel reports.
- Other miscellaneous travel functions as needed.
- Responsible to provide decision and recommendations to supervisor when necessary.

Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- A minimum of 2-4 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- A degree in a business-related field
- Experience with SAP and knowledge of government travel regulations (FAR, FTR, GSA, etc.)
- Computer skills and working knowledge of software packages including Excel, Outlook, Word and Adobe
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook and Power Point
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and to participate creatively in collaborative teams across the laboratory.
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs.
