Title:  Tableau Developer Job Description

Summary:

This role be responsible to data visualization solutions using Tableau to deliver valuable insights to the business. This role will include tasks such as generating Tableau dashboard reports, creating business intelligence reports and visualizations, and work with data engineers, architects and the business. Managing the delivery of a tableau dashboard throughout the SDLC life cycle is a must have.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, conducts unit testing, and maintains complex Tableau reports for scalability, manageability, extensibility, performance, and re-use.
• Provide technical expertise in areas of architecture, design, and implementation of reports.
• Work with the customer to create useful reports and dashboards that provide insight, improve/automate processes, or otherwise add value to the business.
• Be able to gather detailed requirements, produce mockups and manage delivery through production.
• Work through iterative review cycles to deliver results that meet or exceed user expectations.
• Ensure consistency by adhering to a set of report and data engineering templates.
• Communicate regularly on timelines, ensuring end users are aware of the plan, risks, issues etc.
• Adhere to governance standards and provide suggestions as needed
   

Qualifications:

• 5+ years’ experience leading teams delivering value through data and analytics.
• Strong communication (verbal and written) and facilitation skills to effectively deal with various levels of management and staff.
• Experience managing large teams of outsourced suppliers working across multiple projects.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and work with highly sensitive data and information.
   

Required Skills:

• Solid understanding of the functionality and features in Tableau. Cognos expierence is a plus.
• Strong understanding of programming languages such as SQL, Python and their appropriate application.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across all levels of seniority both internally and externally.
• 5 years of proven experience in developing and working Tableau driven dashboards, analytics.
• Ability to query and display large data sets while maximizing the performance of workbook.
• Ability to interpret technical or dashboard structure and translate complex business requirements to technical specifications.
• Working knowledge of Tableau administrator/architecture.
• Advanced Tableau development skills required.
