Summary

Join our Telecommunication Systems Field Area Network Team. This team supports the cellular field area network utilized to communicate beyond the substation to smart devices within the power distribution network. This internship offers exposure to cutting-edge technologies in telecommunications, AI integration, and smart grid systems. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to projects that impact real-world power distribution networks. 

What You'll Do

• Maintaining data within the Field Area Network database
• Enhancing and supporting GIS data loads
• Creating reports
• Assisting with the implementation of AI to optimize team productivity
• Assisting with the provisioning of new base stations
• Assisting engineers and technicians with their daily duties
• Other duties as required

What It Takes To Succeed

Highly preferred skills/experience: 

• Experience with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, SharePoint and Outlook.
• Experience utilizing Generative AI
• Experience programming with languages such as Python 
• Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week 
      - Will make allowances for tests and other schoolwork.
•  At least two days per week in the office located near Mill and Curry in Tempe, AZ
• Looking for a student willing to work year-round until graduation.

Preferred Education:   

•  Working towards a degree in engineering or information technology.
• Interest in wireless communications

Education

College level coursework (100+) from an accredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis according to the skill/level to determine if applicable to the position by management.

 

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
