PAY AND FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT (FLSA) STATUS:
Pay Range: 509NE
Hourly Rate: $25.45 - $38.90
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
The normal starting pay for this position is the minimum of the pay range listed above. A higher rate of pay may be considered, dependent on the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant and/or the City’s step placement policy.

DEPARTMENTAL INFORMATION
The Oklahoma City Utilities Department serves over 1.4 million residents within central Oklahoma. The Utilities Department, one of the largest City departments with over 800 employees, ten divisions, and an annual budget of $850 million, provides water, wastewater, and solid waste management services. It delivers an average of 100 million gallons of water every day through retail and wholesale service connections. It also has a 50-year contract with the federal government to operate and maintain water and wastewater facilities at Tinker Air Force Base. Line Maintenance is its largest division with over 225 employees, who service 4,000 miles of water pipe and 3,000 miles of sewer pipe, with 17,000 work orders annually. The Utilities Department has talented, committed staff, and engaged leadership and is seeking a forward-thinking, effective leader.
JOB SUMMARY
This position is located in the Line Maintenance Division of the Utilities Department within City of Oklahoma City and usually reports to a section or division head. An employee of this classification is responsible for providing standard research and analytical support by evaluating previously identified problems, developing alternatives, and making written and verbal recommendations for program, policy, and procedural changes based on independently conducted operational assessments. A variety of administrative duties in support of work activities are performed, such as budget preparation, goals and objectives development, staff report writing, and some special studies including feasibility, time, cost, and costing-benefit analyses.
