Job Overview:
LPL Financial is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Vice President (AVP), Compliance Risk Assessment & Testing to join our Compliance team. This role plays a critical part in identifying and mitigating compliance risks across the organization by leading risk assessments and evaluating the operating effectiveness of control frameworks. The AVP will collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
Lead and execute risk-based compliance control assessments and testing engagements.
Collaborate with compliance subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify, assess, and document compliance risks.
Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of controls to mitigate risks related to regulatory non-compliance.
Provide consultative support on the development and enhancement of controls to address identified gaps.
Present findings and recommendations to senior and executive management; facilitate remediation planning and issue validation.
Analyze and provide feedback on process taxonomies to support enterprise-wide risk assessments.
Align with internal partners including Internal Audit, Risk, and Operations to ensure consistency and integration across risk functions.
Contribute to the strategic development of the CRA program.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial services industry, with a strong focus on compliance risk assessments and/or testing.
In-depth knowledge of broker-dealer and investment advisor regulatory obligations.
Proven ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, including senior and executive leadership.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and SmartSheet.
Solid understanding of risk management frameworks and control design principles.
Preferences:
Experience conducting or supporting risk assessments in large, complex organizations.
Hands-on experience with issue management, validation, and remediation planning.
Familiarity with Process, Risk, and Control (PRC) libraries and governance frameworks.
Exposure to GRC platforms (e.g., Archer, MetricStream) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
