About the Role

SGS is seeking a full-time Senior Frontend Engineer with extensive experience in API development in cloud-based applications. Responsibilities:

  • Working on the various elements of the platform and translating ideas into coherent software development roadmaps
  • Making important decisions about the software stack and infrastructure
  • Writing robust, maintainable, and future-proof code
  • Performing code reviews, engaging software designing architecture discussions, and communicating technical information to non-technical teams

About You

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible for TS/SCI security clearance  
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline
  • 5+ years of frontend development experience
  • In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, Typescript, CSS, HTML, and frontend development methodologies
  • Advanced knowledge of the React framework and ecosystem
  • Hands-on architect with the ability to write well-documented, extensible code
  • Experience building performant, scalable web applications
  • Experience implementing meaningful unit testing and building end-to-end testing 
  • Participate in defining design and coding best practices for the team and organization wide
  • Understanding of CI/CD best practices and releasing code utilizing a deployment pipeline 
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for code quality, architecture, accessibility, and usability
  • Continuous learner of new technologies, with ability to determine whether they should be used and what the best approach is for a particular project
  • Passion for user-centered design and usability
  • Good collaboration skills and ability to work with team leads
  • Outstanding communication skills

Even Better

  • Experience working in the Defense or Aerospace industry 
  • Familiarity working cross-functionally with Agile development methodologies
