Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Android, Linux, C, C++) to join our growing team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our systems using Linux and C/C++. Your work will directly impact our client’s ability to deliver high-quality products and services to our customers. Our ideal candidate will possess extensive system-level experience with Android, Linux, and C/C++. This position is a hybrid position with 4 days on-site and 1 day remote and will be a W-2 Hourly 9-12 month contract with possible extension. 

The hourly rate is $58/hr. – $62/hr. and will be paid within this range based on work experience and skills. Candidates are also eligible for limited benefits such as health insurance, professional development, trainings, our referral bonus program, and our wellness program.

Responsibilities:

• Codes software applications to adhere to designs supporting internal business requirements or external customers.
• Oversees testing and develops fixes.
• Monitors and maintains operational readiness of Middleware Applications including applications hosted in AWS cloud.
• Identify opportunities for system enhancements that will deliver enhanced functionality and/or simplify system administration.
• Facilitate and develop plans for application changes (including defects fixes, enhancements and/or configuration changes).
• Configure and test changes to system including reports, security access, and workflow.
• Perform/Coordinate configuration changes to the production environment.
• Work closely with BA/QA team members to create test plans and ensure that issues are properly identified, fixed, and tested.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or relevant work experience.
• 5 to 8 years of system level experience with Android technologies.
• Strong system level experience with Linux.
• Advanced programming experience with C/C++.
• Work in a collaborative environment and coach other team members on coding practices, design principles, and implementation patterns.
• Expert-level implementation skills in building highly scalable services. 
• Experience consuming API/web-based services.
• Experience with HTTP and TCP/IP.
• Experience with additional scripting languages such as Python and Ruby a plus.
