The North America Laird Sales Quoting and Technical Support team are looking for an early career Technical Sales Support Engineer to provide quoting and technical support to our internal and external stakeholders. This exciting opportunity will have you collaborating with sales and engineering to support a vast range of electronics customers.

This position will be located at the Chesterfield, MO or Schaumburg, IL location working a hybrid schedule (3 days in office/ 2 days remote).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide technical support and guidance to customer inquiries ensuring that proposed designs align with the manufacturing site capabilities.  Follow up with customer technical requests as needed.

• Collaborate with our manufacturing sites to determine product costs and establish pricing to deliver quotes for our customers.

• Field general questions about Laird products and services.  Be able to confidently address customer questions, general product capabilities, specifications, part numbers and general application guidelines.

• Partner with customers to collect complete information regarding the technical requirements for their application. Consult with other subject matter experts within the organization when necessary for more difficult applications.

• Provide new product opportunities as discovered by dealing with customer issues with a view to patent such products or ideas.

• Make outbound calls in response to incoming sales leads, sample requests, and product sales to customers.

• This role requires strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to absorb product knowledge of all Laird products.

• The ideal candidate will have strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field

• 2D/3D CAD drawing experience (Creo; SolidWorks)
   

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment

• Experience in pricing and quoting

• Knowledgeable in cost of manufacturing

• Familiar with electronics hardware and electro-mechanical components
