Job Title: Senior Chemist

Location: Greenwood, SC – Onsite

Based in Greenwood, SC, this role offers the opportunity to perform various test procedures to determine the quality and uniformity of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products in compliance with company specifications, quality standards and government regulations in support of the hard capsule business.

What you will do

  • Perform quality control testing on finished goods and raw materials. 

  • Assures compliance with company standards and government regulations, as well as Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s) and Current Good Laboratory Practices (cGLP’s). 

  • Anticipatesidentifies, and troubleshoots potential problems involving the quality and analysis of raw materials and finished products. 

  • Leads and executes projects. 

  • Reviews documentation for accuracy and compliance. 

  • Conducts and leads meetings and communications effectively. 

  • Writes and updates Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions. 

  • Assists with internal and external regulatory and compliance audits. 

  • The Sr. Chemist provides backup for the Chemistry Supervisor. 

  • Lead analytical laboratory investigations. 

  • Ensure orderly testing flow for one business unit. (HEC/DFS/Ingredients) 

  • Must be able to work 40 hours a week, which may include weekends, holidays, etc. 

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Science, Chemistry or equivalent.

  • Strong proficiency with word processing, database and statistical computer software.
